Meet the team
Unlike many so-called publishing companies, Picata is bursting at the seams with genuine publishing experience.
Antonia, our marketing guru, has more than 25 years’ experience in publishing, print and communications. Formerly with Eaglehead Publishing, a specialist publisher of trade magazines and technical books, Antonia is the driving force behind Picata Books. She understands what it takes to market and sell self-published books after years of running PR and Advertising firms.
Chris, our editor in chief, started in journalism before moving into public relations, where he became a director of a leading PR consultancy. Chris’s enthusiasm for the written word eventually drew him to specialise in writing and editing books, and he is now a published author. He is an experienced editor, ghostwriter and media contributor. His books include A Life On The Edge, a biography of the angling writer and wildlife broadcaster Hugh Falkus, Golden Game Fair, a history of the CLA Game Fair, and The Trout’s Tale. A Life On The Edge was described by one reviewer as having ‘a good claim to be the finest biography of an angler anyone has ever written’.
